Chair’s Message – May 2017

Another April is in the books and what a busy April the Chamber had. In case you missed it, the April Chamber luncheon was held at Norwood Country Club where we awarded five $1,000 scholarships to some very deserving high school students. We also held our Music Trivia at JFK Center. We had a great time and it was our most successful Music Trivia Night so far. I’d like to thank Dr. Adam Howell and the Trivia Night Committee for their planning and work on the event, and we want to thank everyone who attended. If you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry. You can join in on the fun and share some of your music knowledge this fall when we do it again. Stay tuned for more information on the fall Music Trivia.

May is now here and with that comes a busy time of the year for everyone. Valley of the Flowers is right around the corner, graduations, parish/school picnics, and Memorial Day weekend are all on the calendar. The month will be over before you know it and June will be here.

June is going to be a busy time for the Chamber. We have the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 2nd. This is an awesome event where you can golf at one of the finest golf courses in North County, Florissant Golf Club. We will have great food from North County restaurants and, most importantly, you can enjoy the company of other North County Chamber members and business owners. Not a golfer, not a problem. Come out and volunteer a few hours of your time and be part of the fun.

Another event that is sure to be a highlight of the summer is the Chamber Duck Race, held at the water park at Koch Park on July 29th. Those who purchase a rubber duck are entered into the race and will have a chance to win, place or show for cash prizes. If that’s not enough, your rubber duck also includes admission into the water park for the day

So, save the dates:  June 3rd for the Golf Tournament and July 29th for the Duck Races. Hope to see you there—either participating or working side-by-side with other Chamber members to put these events on. Whichever way you chose to participate, there is fun to be had and good to be done.
