President’s Report – September 2018

Hello September! It is my absolute favorite time of the year with warm summer air turning crisp and falling into autumn.  In August, I was invited by City of Jennings Mayor Austin to speak to some of their business owners about the work the Chamber does in serving the business community in North County.  In turn, I was able to learn about all the happenings in the City of Jennings and how they are revitalizing their community block by block.  If you would like me to speak to your organization, please don’t hesitate to call or email and I’ll be happy to share what the Chamber is up to and what we’ve accomplished.  Together, we are making a stronger North County.

Ladies! Reserve your calendar for September 21st for the Chamber’s Annual Women’s Empowerment Seminar: Being Your Own Boss! Presented by The City of Ferguson and sponsored by The Bridge at Florissant and Life Care Center of Florissant.  We have lined up phenomenal speakers for the day with Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, CEO of Lambert St. Louis International Airport; Cillah Hall, Founder/Publisher for Gazelle Magazine; and Dr. Robyn Lawrence, Owner of Get Well Family Chiropractic.  Call the chamber office today! Sponsorships are available.

We only have 6 teams left for our Run, Kick, & Play Fall event on October 20th! We have partnered with the Race to the Shrine for a wonderful fun-filled day! Please help us make the event a great success! Homerun sponsors for this event is North County Inc., Safe Harbor Finance & Insurance, and State Farm.  Thanks to the City of Florissant for sponsoring the evening concert that will wrap up the day!

Sign up now for our Membership Luncheon on August 19th at the Atrium at Catering To You! The St. Louis Zoo will be presenting to us their plans for the region.  Luncheon sponsor will be SSM Health DePaul and the non-profit of the month is the Kwesi Prince Foundation, a pediatric cancer organization dedicated to providing support to families suffering the devastating effects of Childhood Cancer with a focus on brain tumors.

Please join us for September’s Business After Hours on Thursday, September 13th at Central Bank from 5-7 p.m.  Bring a friend, a spouse or a colleague! The more the merrier!

Be sure to sign up for our upcoming Social Media Seminar on Wednesday, September 12th at 10 a.m. at the Chamber office.  This is a free seminar, but space is limited, so please call us at 314-831-3500.

Membership Directories for 2018-2019 are now available! Pick some up for your business and share with your staff and customers!
As the change of season begins, I leave you with this beautiful quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”
