President’s Report – November 2017

Welcome to the season of gratefulness! November is a time to reflect on the people that we cherish and the daily life we are so fortunate to live. Every day in November, let’s make a conscious effort to stop and think about just one thing we are thankful for… it may be your family, your friends, your business, or your church, or it may be the car that takes you from point A to point B… there is so much joy in being thankful.

This month, we will be having our Board Orientation and planning session to look ahead onto 2018. We have a dynamic board and I am excited to see what’s ahead for our businesses, our community and our chamber. There are already a couple of updates that we know will happen in 2018, our monthly chamber meeting prices will go from $22 to $25. We will also have Membership Breakfast meetings in 2018, to give our full membership the opportunity to network and get involved. I hope that many of you take advantage of this opportunity. We also have Membership Meeting Sponsor slots open for 2018, as well as Non-profit spotlight of the month for 2018. Please call the chamber office as these slots fill in quickly.

Nite of Stars is less than a month away and if you haven’t gotten your ticket(s) yet, don’t wait, don’t hesitate, don’t do anything but call the chamber office… we cannot guarantee you a seat! We are SOLD OUT on VIP tables and as I write this, we may only have a handful of tables left. We want you to attend! This will be the most amazing gala yet… we have some fabulous Live Auction items already! If you’re unable to make it for some reason, you can buy a $25 Raffle ticket for the cash prize drawings! You can win up to $5000!!!

We still need your wine donations for this year’s Wine Pull and we are also taking scratch-off lottery tickets, so come by the office and chat with us and bring us wine ? We are also still taking auction items, so look at your goodie closets and share with your friendly chamber!

I have to say a big thank-you to the amazing Kent Miller for taking photos after the October luncheon! This will be used for our new Chamber Brochures! And also, Kent did an amazing job for those that were able to get their headshots taken on October 19th! Your next chance will be in 2018! Thanks Kent!

As I wrap up, please be sure to stop by and bring new un-wrapped toys to the chamber office, as well as cleaning supplies for our Holiday drive. I know we’re all excited about the holidays, let’s include those in our community that may be struggling during this time of the year. As always, Mother Teresa said it best when she said, “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
