President’s Report – July 2020

Hello July… is it really July? It feels like the days have rolled into one! It’s hard to imagine that over half the year has passed, it doesn’t feel like it ever began. As we look ahead to the rest of the year cautiously, we will persevere through these difficult times. As many of our events have had to be postponed and rescheduled, here are a couple of events that we’ve had to reschedule to July.

Music Trivia which was scheduled in March will be on July 24th at the JFK Center in the City of Florissant. We have a few tables ($160 for table of 8) left and will be adhering to social distancing guidelines for the event. Please go on the website HERE or call the office at 314-831-3500.

Golf Tournament which was scheduled for June will be on July 31st at the Florissant Golf Course. We are still taking teams ($100 per player).  Tee-time is at 10 a.m.  Please join us and register a team HERE.

Scholarship Bowl is still set for August 6th at Crest Bowl. Funds for this event go towards our scholarships for high school seniors.  Please call the Chamber office to register a team at 314-831-3500.

Last month’s in-person membership event at Catering To You was a success! We are again limiting registration to the first 50 people, so please sign up now for our Membership Luncheon on July 15th at Pallotine Renewal Center!

I hope you enjoy your 4th of July weekend with family and friends (social distanced of course). It’s so important that during this time, we take a break to realign our minds, hearts, and bodies. Take deep breaths, calm your mind from all of the noise: be it social media, the news, or radio. Sometimes sitting in silence is the best thing for our wellbeing. There are so many distractions, so many things pulling at our attention, let’s get back to the basics of life and what’s truly important: your health, your family, and your community. When my kids are cranky or when I’m cranky, it’s usually because I haven’t eaten, slept, or had any time to let my body rest. So during this Independence Day weekend, let’s make sure to eat, sleep, and be merry! It’ll have a positive impact on our businesses, families, and community!

God bless you and God bless America.
