President’s Report – January 2021

Happy New Year! Good riddance 2020! We hope never to see you again! We’re so excited for this new year and what it is store for our Chamber and hopefully, we will be able to see you all live and in-person this year! We miss your faces and ZOOM just doesn’t cut it!

Join us for our Installation Luncheon on January 20th at Catering To You.  We will be installing our new board members! Space is limited to the first 50 registered.  Please contact the Chamber office for more information!

We will be celebrating our Anniversary Awards luncheon on February 17th.  Chris and Kathy Helfer will be awarded our 2021 Business Persons of the Year award; and Senator Gina Walsh will received the prestigious Zykan Family Legacy Award.  It’s going to be an exciting event! Sponsorships are available.  $50 for an individual ticket.  Please visit the Chamber website or call the Chamber office at 314-831-3500.

As the chamber looks ahead, I want to thank our 2020 Board Chair Dr. Misty Farr for her leadership in 2020.  2020 was not the year we expected but with Dr. Misty’s leadership, we were able to weather the storm! Thank you so much Misty for your tireless leadership in helping us navigate through these trying times.
I am excited to welcome our new 2021 Board Chair Rick P. Dorsey!  If you don’t know Rick, he is a wonderful advocate for the community and has been the past chair for North County Inc, Florissant Rotary, the Florissant JCs, Valley Industries and is involved with many, many more organizations! He leads with service and we look forward to his leadership in 2021.  A BIG THANK YOU to our outgoing board members: Courtney Bond, Edward Jones; Mark Behlmann; and Darla Tinker.  We are indebted to the service that you’ve given the chamber, thank you so much!

Community News will be sponsoring “The Best in North County” again this year.  Watch for the ad in the Community News this month and remember to vote for your favorite North County business.  No purchase necessary to win.

Lastly, if you are not involved in a committee, we would love for you to get involved! We are always looking for our chamber members to participate in making our events more creative and strengthening our chamber.  Please call the chamber office and we would love to share with you the different opportunities for you to get involved.

We have a couple of dates available for our Business After Hours, if you are interested, please call the chamber office.

I hope that this first month of the year energizes you with renewed hope for the future, like C.S. Lewis stated, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
