President’s Report – January 2020

Happy New Year! How exciting to see another year begin! I always thought we’d be flying cars in 2020! What a surreal feeling it is to be in this new decade.  We’re so excited for this new year and what it is store for our Chamber!

Join us for at our Installation Luncheon on January 16th at Christian Hospital’s Dietrich Building.  We will be installing our new board members! Please contact the Chamber office for more information!

In February, we will be celebrating our 65th Anniversary with our first ever Anniversary Awards luncheon.  We will be awarding the 2020 Zykan Family Legacy Award and the 2020 Business Person of the Year award.  We have incredible nominees that we will be celebrating that day; as our milestone members! It’s going to be an exciting event! Sponsorships are available.  $50 for an individual ticket.  Please visit the Chamber website or call the Chamber office at 314-831-3500.

As the chamber looks ahead, I want to thank our 2019 Board Chair Darla Tinker for her leadership 2019.  2019 was a great year for the Greater North County Chamber with some challenges and triumphs and we couldn’t have made it successful without Darla.  Thank you Darla!

I am excited to welcome our new 2020 Board Chair Dr. Misty Farr with Walmart.  If you don’t know Misty, she is a wonderful advocate for the community! She leads with service and we look forward to her leadership in 2020.  A BIG THANK YOU to our outgoing board members: Kim Bakker, SSM Health DePaul Hospital; Dr. Joe Davis, Ferguson-Florissant School District; Brian Douglas, Maroney State Farm; Sharon Johnson, Central Bank; Kitty Harrison, Johnny Londoff Chevrolet.  We are indebted to the service that you’ve given the chamber, thank you so much!

Community News will be sponsoring “The Best in North County” again this year.  Watch for the ad in the Community News this month and remember to vote for your favorite North County business.  No purchase necessary to win.

Lastly, if you are not involved in a committee, we would love for you to get involved! We are always looking for our chamber members to participate in making our events more creative and strengthening our chamber.  Please call the chamber office and we would love to share with you the different opportunities for you to get involved.

We have a couple of dates available for our Business After Hours, if you are interested, please call the chamber office.

I hope that this first month of the year energizes you with renewed hope for the future, like C.S. Lewis stated, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”

Chamber President
