President’s Report – January 2018
Happy New Year! How exciting to see another year begin! Has anyone written their 2018 New Year’s Resolution down? I’ve got a couple swimming in my brain… learn something new, organize my pile of sticky notes and continue to help others. Take a moment or two to jot some of your thoughts down for 2018.
Join us for our Installation Luncheon on January 17th at Christian Hospital’s Dietrich Building. This year, it is our privilege to honor our Business Leaders of the Year, Nathan and Christina Bennett. We will also have the installation of our board members. Lunch is $40 per person; please contact the chamber office to reserve your spot.
As the chamber looks ahead, I want to thank our 2017 Board Chair Mike Moehlenkamp for his leadership and dedication in 2017. 2017 was a great year for the Greater North County Chamber with some challenges and triumphs and we couldn’t have made it successful without Mike. Thank you Mike!
I am excited to welcome our new 2018 Board Chair Bret Berigan with Christian Hospital. If you don’t know Bret, he is a wonderful wealth of knowledge! I’ve never met anyone with more integrity and community spirit. He leads with service and we look forward to his leadership in 2018. A BIG THANK YOU to our outgoing board members: Bill Morrison (Morrison Travel), Keetra Thompson (Life is a Party), Jon Vogt (Catering To You), and Elizabeth Wade (US Bank). We are indebted to the service that you’ve given the chamber, thank you so much!
Community News will be sponsoring “The Best in North County” again this year. Watch for the ad in the Community News this month and remember to vote for your favorite North County Business.
Lastly, if you are not involved in a committee, we would love for you to get involved! We are always looking for our chamber members to participate in making our events more creative and strengthening our chamber. Please call the chamber office and we would love to share with you the different opportunities for you to get involved.
We have a couple of dates available for our Business After Hours, if you are interested, please call the chamber office.
I hope that this first month of the year energizes you with renewed hope for the future, like Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them”
