President’s Report – February 2018
Happy February! I blinked and January passed. Our January Awards and Installation Luncheon was wonderful as we installed our incredible Board of Directors and awarded our Business Leaders of the Year, Nathan and Christina Bennett. Also awarded were Catering To You’s Jon Vogt as the recipient of the Cathy Behlmann Volunteer of the Year; Vivial’s Tom Gilliland was named Ambassador of the Year; and Amore Pizza’s Derick Wellman was honored as Rookie of the Year.
In December, the Chamber paid off the building’s mortgage, thank you to everyone that stopped by our “Mortgage Free Party!” in January! We’re so excited to own our building and lot!
As we roll into the month of love, we will have our very own Chamber Cupid that will be going around different chamber businesses to give you gift ideas for the ones you love. So watch out for our little Cupid going on Facebook Live! If you’re interested in being one of our stops, please call the office.
Don’t forget to reserve your spot to get your Head Shot taken by the one and only Kent Miller Photography on Friday, February 9th, 2018! Please call the Chamber Office! Chamber members only pay $40, while non-members pay $60.
Our Music Trivia for April 7th is well on its way! Don’t forget to get a table before its too late, sponsorships are still available! Make sure to vote for your favorite North County Business for Community News’ “The Best in North County”. Please visit the Community News website at www.mycnews.com.
Lastly, if you are not involved in a committee, we would love for you to get involved! We are always looking for our chamber members to participate in making our events more creative and strengthening our chamber. Please call the chamber office and we would love to share with you the different opportunities for you to get involved.
We have a couple of dates available for our Business After Hours, if you are interested, please call the chamber office.
I leave you with this thought by Dale Carnegie, “Success is getting what you want; happiness is wanting what you get.”
