President’s Report – August 2019
And then there’s August, my friends… the Sunday of Summer. The children are sun-kissed and ready for the first days of school and parents everywhere sigh in unison. How did we blink and most of 2019 is gone? I’ve already bought my 2020 planner! So far, it’s been a tremendous 2019! We’ve had a 94% retention rate in membership and a 15% increase in new membership. There are over 250 networking opportunities that the Chamber provides for its members and only 5 of those are fundraisers, the rest is to help build, connect and grow your business!
Thank you to all those that sponsored, participated, and volunteered in our 2019 Scholarship Bowl! We cannot do it without your support! Thanks to Crest Bowl for always doing a great job in making sure everyone’s having a great time! Funds raised go towards our 2020 Scholarships and since it’s inception, the Chamber has granted close to $90K in scholarships to our North County graduating seniors.
Our first ever Career Fair is August 24th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Florissant Eagan Center! Thank you to event sponsor The City of Florissant and our presenting sponsor A Savvy Employment Solutions! The event will have seminars throughout the day including: Retooling Your Career; Resume Writing; and Selling Yourself: Resume Building, Interview Tips, and Soft Skills. Employer tables are still available for $150.
