President’s Report – April 2018
“The sun will come up tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow… there’ll be sun!” is the song I keep singing over and over again to remind myself that even though we’ve had an over abundance of raindrops… one day, soon, so very soon, the sun will shine and greet us! April is upon us! We had a wonderful March. Thank you to Community News, our partners for the “Best of North County” and congratulations to all the winners!
Congratulations to Derek Wellman, owner of Amore Pizza! He is our Ambassador for the month! Derek attends all the Chamber’s ribbon cuttings, volunteers at Chamber events, greets new members, promotes the Chamber to other businesses and signs them up for membership! You rock Derek! Also, if you haven’t stopped by Amore, please do so, they don’t only have yummy pizza, they also have awesome fried chicken, lasagna, and steamed broccoli!
Our job at the Greater North County Chamber is to serve you! If you have not done so already, please fill out our 2018 Survey! This helps us know what we need to focus on and gives us great feedback on what we’re doing right and the different opportunities we can improve on. So please, take the time to give us your feedback, we’re listening ?. We will draw a winner for a Chamber e-Blast ad (value at $100) and a lunch with myself and our very own, Mr. Bret Berigan!
Because partnerships are key to making a Chamber successful, we have partnered with Complete Auto Body to help the Backstoppers and Responder Rescue! We are selling tickets for a Cardinal Game on May 18th for $45 that include a Happy Hour at Paddy O’s prior to the game and a chance to throw out the first pitch raffle! The promotional giveaway is a Bob Gibson Pitching Rubber. Please call the Chamber office at 314-831-3500 if you would like to purchase a couple of tickets! Enjoy a game while helping two great causes!
We love keeping you informed and on April 24th, we will have a Member Orientation at noon at the Chamber Office. This is for new members, existing members or anyone that would like to know EVERYTHING that we’ve got going on for you at the Chamber. We cover everything from ChamberMaster to all our committees to Chamber events to the Missouri Chamber’s Health Benefit Plan! So please call the Chamber office and reserve your spot… we will also have snacks!
We are putting a Chamber group together for the Valley of Flowers “100 Years of the Muny”. Our theme is “Meet Us At the Chamber” and our group name is the Chamber Stars! Please call the Chamber Office if this sounds right up your alley… no dancing skills required but highly desired. Our very own Kitty Harrison with Johnny Londoff Chevrolet is our choreographer extraordinaire!
Last but certainly not least, thank you to everyone that donated to our Homeless Drive! We have been able to give five organizations good size donations because of you! For this quarter, we are having a Canned Food Drive! Items collected will be donated to TEAM Food Pantry and other local charities. If the Chamber office is closed, please drop items off at the back porch by the garage.
I leave you with this quote from Albert Einstein: “Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity.” Happy Spring Cleaning everyone!
