From the President…
I am so excited to join this great team here at the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. Our chamber has some of the best members and I could not ask for a better support team. We have new ideas flowing in the office and we are always open to new suggestions and opinions. As they say, “no idea is a bad idea.†We are always looking for members to help on committees too. If you want to be involved and really get to know other members I encourage you to sign up on one of our many committees: Community service, membership, scavenger hunt, Night of Stars etc. Our Ambassadors are looking for members to join their team also. Please call the office for more information.
I have lived in and been a business owner for many years in North County. I have been a member of the GNCC since 2008, chaired many committees, served on the board of directors and was your Vice-Chair. To accept the position as President was not hard for me to do. I have been working with our great staff for a long time, so the transition has been seamless. The energy is high and new ideas are flowing.
Starting next month we will highlight 2 members a month on our Fan Friday. We, the staff, are YOUR biggest fans and we will visit these 2 members and show our fan appreciation. The companies will be highlighted on our new website also. Speaking of which, our new website should be up and running in the beginning of September. The new website looks fantastic and our membership directory is online too. Lots of new exciting things to come!
I would like to thank Carolyn Marty, our past president, for leading the way with our chamber membership, keeping it strong and vibrant in good and bad economic times. We are indebted to Carolyn for her unceasing efforts to build the chamber in the greater North County area. We wish her well in her retirement. Carolyn’s last day in the office will be September 2, 2016. At this time, Carolyn asked us not to have a retirement party for her. We are respecting her wishes, but anyone that would like to say goodbye to her, please come by the office any day between 9a.m.-4p.m. If that does not work, she will also be playing at our Music Trivia on September 17th you can speak with her then also. Thank you Carolyn for all you have done for the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. We wish you much happiness.
I look forward to the opportunity to further the mission of the Chamber and continue its service to the North County community. I can’t wait to meet all of our Chamber members and I am committed to working with them to market their businesses and organizations.
