Chair’s Message – October 2016

Happy Fall Y’all!

First, I wanted to thank everyone that participated in Music Trivia. We had a great turn out, loads of FUN and even had two celebrities in the house…..can I get a shout out for Salt-N-Pepa!! A BIG thank you goes out to the chamber members that attended the event, the sponsors for their generous donations, the committee for exceeding budget, and of course the chamber office for all of their hard work putting the event together. A special thank you to Big Papa G who once again did an amazing job with the music trivia and we can’t thank him enough!! He does a great job with the questions and making the night fun for all. Thank you Big Papa G! I will say again, it takes us all working together to have an event as successful as this one was. Thank you everyone!

Next up is the Women’s Empowerment Seminar. This event will be held at Catering to You Banquet Center on Wednesday, October 12th from about 9am until around 1pm. I attended the event last year and it was a wonderful time. We hope that all of the ladies can make it and if you haven’t signed up, please do so today!!

Finally, please make sure to save the date for our biggest fundraiser of the year, Nite of Stars, which will be held on Friday, December 2nd at the Detrick Building of Christian Hospital. If you haven’t ever been to this event you are missing out. It is a great night out for a good cause and tickets are only $75 per person which includes drinks and heavy appetizers all night long. There will be a silent auction, live auction, dancing, music provided by Big Papa G, and who knows what other excitement will be added this year. Make sure to get your golden ticket today by calling the chamber office.
