Chair’s Message – January 2018
Greetings,
It’s truly an honor and privilege to serve as chair of the board in 2018 for your Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. I have been involved with the chamber since 1996 and have witnessed it grow by leaps and bounds, build its own building and even change its name – but one constant has remained – the chamber’s commitment to serve as the “Voice of Business” that works tirelessly to promote the economic development and quality of life in North County.
I’m continually impressed with the involvement of chamber members and the dedication of the chamber staff working in tandem with our board of directors. I have made many chamber friends and business acquaintances through the years, and I’m particularly looking forward to working with this year’s executive board, which includes the following members:
- Darla Tinker, Vice Chair, US Bank
- Kitty Harrison, Secretary, Johnny Londoff Chevrolet
- Halina Conti, Treasurer, Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.
- Mike Moehlenkamp, Past Chair, Gary’s Auto Service
In addition, please join me in welcoming the following new board members joining our board for 2018. These individuals will work closely with our existing board members to plan events and programs to promote business in North County and the work of the chamber.
- Misty Farr – Walmart
- Courtney Bond – Edward Jones
- Rick Dorsey – Ahlheim & Dorsey LLC
- Tasanya Johnson – The Bridge at Florissant
Together, we’ll kick off this year on Jan. 17 at Christian Hospital in the Detrick Building Atrium with the installation of our new board and award presentation of our Business Leaders of the Year – Christina and Nathan Bennett, owners of Hendel’s Restaurant. I look forward to seeing you there!
ALSO, please plan to join us for our monthly Business After Hours hosted by Dr. Robyn Lawrence on Jan. 11 from 5-7 p.m. as we all gather at Get Well Family Chiropractic, located at 580 N. Hwy. 67, Suite 5 (63031). I hope you can join us, as the Business After Hours is a great way to network informally and socialize with chamber people!
I appreciate the confidence the chamber has put in me to serve as your chair, and I will work very hard on behalf of all of you. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me directly. In the meantime, Happy New Year and thanks for your support as we roll up our sleeves and get to work!
Best regards,
Bret Berigan
