Chair’s Message – August 2018

Greetings Chamber Comrades,

August is here along with the heat and humidity that makes Midwest summers so special.  I hope you are enjoying your summer and our community with all of the weekly happenings. I want to thank everyone for the very successful Scholarship Bowl on Aug. 3 at Crest Bowl. It was a lot fun and great fellowship!  This event is our largest contributor to our scholarship foundation, and to date we have given out $75,000+ to well deserving high school seniors in the area. This event is also lots of fun and is a great way to network.

On Aug.14 ladies will gather for the W.I.N Women In Networking Luncheon. It’s going be a great event so don’t miss out!

This month our Membership Breakfast Meeting on Aug. 15 is in the Atrium at Christian Hospital. It will be a speed networking event and is a great way to start the day and make new chamber friends and contacts. I look forward to seeing you there! We had a breakfast meeting in June, and anyone who was there will attest that it was a great gathering.

Our Business After Hours is on Aug. 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Historic Twillman House, which is now open as a community center after more than a dozen years of renovation, thanks to the Spanish Lake Community Association. Continue to enjoy this summer with all of your family and friends. Keep yourselves active in your communities and last but not least … SHOP CHAMBER FIRST!
