Chair’s Letter – October 2021
“The falling leaves drift past my window. The falling leaves of red and gold.” *
It’s October. I love this month, warm days and crisp nights. Of course, in St. Louis, this also means Post-season baseball. Can you believe the incredible run the Cardinals have been on? We can only hope that it is the beginning of October magic. Which brings to mind the old joke, do you know the difference between a Busch Stadium hotdog and a Wrigley Field hotdog? You can get a Busch Stadium hotdog in October.
We held another successful Women’s Empowerment Seminar on Sept. 24. Congratulations to Halina Conti and her committee. October 12 is our monthly Women in Networking luncheon at Amore Pizza. On Oct. 14, we will be having our monthly Business After Hours at Helfer’s. Come and join us for a purely social occasion. On October 20, we will be holding our monthly Membership Luncheon at Catering to You. Our program will be a Workforce Update from St. Louis Community College. Make your reservation online or call the Chamber Office. Finally, on October 26 we will be holding a Social Media Seminar at the Chamber Office
It’s not too early to be thinking about the holiday season which begins with our Nite of Stars on Dec. 3. This year we will be at a new location, Orlando Gardens. Additionally, we will be presenting our Business Person of the Year and Zykan Family Legacy Award. Get your reservations in early. Also, this quarter we are collecting toys for needy children. Just drop them off at the Chamber Office (I already did).
As always, you get out of your membership what you put into it. Consider joining one of our committees. Many hands make for light work.
