Chair’s Letter – January 2021
Greetings fellow Chamber Members. As we say good riddance to 2020 (and don’t let the door hit it on the a** as it leaves), we welcome a New Year full of promise and hope.
I am honored to serve as your new Chairman and I want to thank our Past-Chairman, Dr. Misty Farr, for all of her efforts and her phenomenal leadership during the most challenging year most of us have ever experienced. I also want to thank our outstanding staff, who were able to pivot on a dime and still produce remarkable results. Thanks also to our various Event Chairs, especially Nite of Stars Chair, Kitty Harrison. The event exceeded all expectations.
It is said that if something doesn’t kill you, it will make you stronger. I think that we can say that about 2020. Where other Chambers of Commerce have folded, the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce is stronger. That is through the efforts of all our members. To that end, we need you to come forward again this year and assist us by serving on a committee. We have our Annual Awards Luncheon coming up in February, our Annual Music Trivia Night in April, our Golf Tournament in June, our Scholarship Bowl in August. Each of these events can use your assistance. If event planning isn’t to your liking, we have our Ambassador Committee to engage new members. Remember that you only get out of the Chamber what you put into it. So get involved. You’ll find it rewarding.
