Chair’s Letter – April 2021

Chair’s Letter – April 2021

And now, it’s April.  Spring.  Easter.  The Masters.  Opening Day.  For my money, Opening Day should be a National Holiday.  There is nothing better than the promise of a new baseball season.  Especially in St. Louis, where there is the hope of another pennant, every year.

As for the Chamber, I have a challenge for you.  The first person who can identify the singer who made the following song famous, will get their April lunch paid for: “Though April showers may come your way, they bring the flowers that bloom in May.”  You must email Jaime, at the Chamber Office.  If you also give his real name (that’s a clue), I’ll pay for your lunch at the May meeting, also.  If this sounds like Music Trivia, it is. On April 17th, the Chamber will have its Music Trivia Contest.  Come and join your fellow Chamber Members in seeing who has the most knowledge of music.  I have no doubt that my question will not be part of the contest.  (I’m too old to be including questions).

Come May, yours truly, will be conducting a legal seminar for small business owners.  Come join us for an interesting discussion. Although, right now, I don’t know the topics.  Part of that is because, in the coming weeks, I will be participating in a seminar which will be dealing with the topic of whether you can require your employees to get the COVID vaccine.

In June, we will have our annual Golf Tournament.  This is our second largest fund raiser of the year.  More importantly, it is a heck of a lot of fun.  Even in the years that I was not a Chamber member, I participated in the tournament (not that my team ever won anything).  Come join us for a day in the great outdoors.

One thing that can be said for your Chamber is that we never lack for activities.  However, you only get out of your membership is what you put into it.  Come, join us!

More later,

Rick
