President’s Report – October 2017

Hello October! It’s amazing that we are at the latter end of the year, how did your 2017 New Year’s Resolution go? It’s not too late to get back on it if you didn’t get through your list! We had an amazing September with the funnest Speed Networking luncheon, if you missed it, you won’t want to miss the next one in 2018!

I am working on a project and I NEED YOUR HELP! At our next luncheon on October 18th at Glen Echo Country Club, we will have a short photoshoot, so please sign up for the luncheon and look your professional best. Also, with this project, WE NEED YOUR BUSINESS STORY! Email me the story of why you started your business/career and how it’s grown and what the Chamber has done to help you along the way. A committee will select the lucky ONE to be on this project but all of the stories will be shared on our social media pages! This is a great opportunity to share your experience, your business and yourself! So email me ?

I want to thank our Nominating Committee for pulling together some amazing nominees for the Chamber’s Board of Directors. At the next luncheon, Board Chair, Mike Moehlenkamp will present you with the nominees and you will need to approve them. This is for a 3-year term: Tasanya Johnson, The Bridge at Florissant, Mindy Farr, Walmart, Courtney Bond, Edward Jones, and Rick Dorsey, Ahlheim & Dorsey LLC. Ricky Hopkins, A-List Realtors to remain on the Board for one more year. Please be there to appoint your new Board members.

We need your wine donations! We are collecting for our Nite of Stars 2017’s Wine Pull! This year’s theme is the Roaring 20s that you don’t want to miss! We’ve got surprises in store and it will be sold out before you know it! We’ve even gotten our very own website for the event: www.NiteOfStars.com so visit and register for the event!

Nominate someone for Business Person of the Year! It’s a great way to thank a business for their longtime dedication to our community!

Last but not least! Women’s Empowerment Seminar is October 13th! If you are a business owner, have some ladies in your office, or have a daughter, wife, sister, mother that would enjoy an afternoon filled with Women, Wine & Wellness… buy her a ticket to this event! You can still register! Call Jaime at the Chamber Office!

Helen Keller said it best, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
