Chair’s Message – June 2017
Happy June everyone! Spring is just about over and summer is right around the corner. With summer time comes outdoor activities and family vacations. Before you know it the 4th of July will be here and then the Labor Day weekend will be here, so make sure you get out and enjoy the summer.
By the time this newsletter is received we will already have another golf tournament in the books. We had a great showing of golfers and volunteers too make it a success. I would like to thank the Golf committee chairs Bill Morrison and Jon Vogt for all the hard work they put in. I would also like to give a big thank you to Debbie Wright and Jamie Jenkins from the chamber office for pulling all of it together and keeping it organized. For those that don’t know this was Debbie’s last golf tournament. She has for the last 7 years taken this major fund raising event under her wing and made it the success it has become, Thanks Debbie!
Some great activities to do this summer are the Chamber Duck races that will be held July 29 at Koch Park. The purchase of a duck will not only get you in the running for some cash prizes but an added bonus it also gets you free admission to the water park that day as well. To purchase a duck, contact the chamber office or a board member. What a great way to cool off and have a chance to win some money. Another event coming up is the Scholarship Bowl held at Crest bowl on August 3rd. This a fun event and it funds the scholarships that the chamber awards to area high school students in the spring. So, get a team together in come join in on the fun and support a good cause at the same time. I wish everyone a safe and fun filled summer.
